What began as a simple quest for Laura Simonson to create an advertising work shirt for her husband grew, within a short time, to a thriving business on Atlantic Avenue.

Laura discovered a heat process called sublimation printing

( https://inkwellnation.com/printing/what-is-sublimation ) that would create a printed logo similar to a traditional silk screen, but much more durable.

While wearing the shirt her husband met with a customer who was impressed by the work and asked if Laura could make shirts for his team. Receiving an order for two hundred shirts, Laura took a deep breath and researched machines powerful enough to manage this amount of product. And her business went forward from there.

For a short time Laura worked from a home workshop, creating designs and product. In 2021 she decided to make the switch to an official business. Still working from her home her business prospered and expanded. In 2022 she made the move to a storefront on First Street in Dassel. Quickly outgrowing that space she moved to her new Atlantic Avenue space.

She heard from people that the logo for Dassel/Cokato Chargers merchandise was not all created with the same specifications and caused confusion. Working with Dassel/Cokato Schools, together they created approved logos for school sponsored clothing. T shirts, sweatpants, flannel pants, sweatshirts, caps, cups, water bottles. If it can be created with her sublimation process Laura can do it.

Her shop is combined of an office/workspace/storage/retail space. The front window contains a display of some of her Dassel/Cokato Chargers gear. Entering her shop you will find a work in progress, (she has been there only a few weeks, and is busy creating Dassel/Cokato Chargers gear.) She has a retail shop that is being designed and set up in which can be found a large variety of Chargers clothing already completed. An prospective customer can purchase directly from her store, from her

website or from the school store at the Dassel/Cokato School website.

Simo Custom Apparel and More offers more than school spirit. Laura can create customized clothing with your own logo or design or create a design just for you. She has created banners for our local business to represent them at community events, custom mugs, and vinyl for vehicles and other advertising. Simo Custom Apparel and More is an important and welcome addition to our town’s business community.
